Does Plyometric Exercise Improve Jumping Performance in Volleyball Athletes? An Overview of Systematic Reviews

Plyometric training is frequently used to improve the jumping performance of volleyball players. The aim present study was synthesize results different systematic reviews that investigated effects plyometric on Systematic research performed in PubMed, Scopus, and Web Science databases, looking for randomized clinical trials. Methodological quality independently assessed by two authors using AMSTAR. Four were included evidence synthesis, representing 983 players, 541 women 314 men (128 not declared). In summary, studies lasted from 2 26 weeks intervention, weekly frequency between 1-3, 1-6 sets, 1-25 repetitions 1-9 exercises per session. AMSTAR indicated with low evidence, one moderate high quality. vertical jump main skill interventions compared horizontal jump. According had a positive effect maintenance jumps athletes. Further should look at mechanisms lead improvements jump, programs possibly include more optimize this skill. Keywords: strength conditioning, stretch-shortening cycle, sport performance, science.
